Important Announcement / Posted on 26 Nov

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have unfortunately had to make the decision to close the South Site of the school tomorrow, Wednesday 27th November, for Years 7, 8 and 9.  The flood waters have continued to rise all day and we have been working closely with the Environment Agency and Fire Brigade.  Despite our best efforts, much of the exterior of South Site is flooded and we are unable to confidently ensure safety around the site.

The North Site is unaffected and will be open as usual to students in Years 10-13, although students will want to avoid any route to school that goes via South Site from Charlbury Road.  We will provide advice to students in Years 7-9, in terms of learning for the day which will involve students working on their Sparx English, Sparx Maths and other homework, but more advice will follow tomorrow to students via their Google Classrooms/school email and website.

As we assess the situation throughout tomorrow, I will update you with further information as soon as possible.

I am sorry for the inconvenience of this closure and thank you for your understanding.  Having reviewed the area myself at 7pm this evening, it is clear it is not safe for students or staff as it stands.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Chris Price

Headteacher
